The Jean-Claude Boisset Wine Collection came to South Florida to host several special events. We were fortunate to be invited to a Jean-Claude Boisset wine dinner at the superb French bistro Pistache, in downtown West Palm Beach. The amazing evening was hosted by the charmingly modest Grégory Patriat, winemaker extraordinaire at the Jean-Claude Boisset winery. The artisan Burgundy producer is located in Nuits St. Georges in the Bourgogne (Burgundy) region in eastern France.

We had the pleasure to attend, by invitation, and experience the theatrical circus show through its Premium VIP Package.  Our Cirque du Soleil VIP tickets included a cocktail reception, with open bar and hors d’œuvres, before the show and during the intermission.

South Pointe Tavern, a new South of Fifth bar on South Beach, boasts the largest selection of whiskeys and tequilas.  The tavern’s signature cocktails are curated by Distilled Hospitality and head bartender Marinko Rankovic.

Interesting drink menu selections range from Tavern Old Fashioned –made with Jim Beam Black and coffee reduction, to Day Trip To Oaxaca – mixed with Ilegal Mezcal Reposado and mole bitters. An attention-grabber is the leafy green Maquina Verde made with exotic Avua Amburana Cachaça –a spirit distilled from sugarcane, and aged in an Amburana wood tank.
