The Lobster Hash from Terra Mare in Fort Lauderdale — I’ll take that any day. In fact, I’ll take the entire brunch menu, if I could. I was recently invited into Terra Mare, a new oceanfront restaurant on Fort Lauderdale Beach, and from the moment I walked on, I knew that I had found a new favorite. It was casual, yet sophisticated with clean lines throughout and it truly offers some of the best views in Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Helmed by Executive Chef Johan Svensson, Terra Mare offers a menu of locally sourced food served with one of the most gorgeous views of the water. In fact, the restaurant is just steps away from the ocean. If you don’t know Chef, you’ll find that he has quite the resume. He’s spent time working under both Marcus Samuelsson at Aquavit and chef Laurent Tourondel at BLT Steak. He’s certainly picked up some of their skills along the way, but has defined his own personal style, where he also brings a taste of his upbringing in Sweden to the table.
Fresh ingredients and panoramic views of the water — Terra Mare Fort Lauderdale has everything in place. Now, let’s talk about their brunch. While you can opt for healthier dishes like the fresh acai bowl or the steel cut oats or opt for something more extravagant – their seafood plateau is outrageous, our foodie heart went out to the Lobster Hash. This luxurious combination of crisp potatoes, succulent lobster, a perfectly poached egg and sea urchin hollandaise made for this week’s craving, our favorite bite of the week.
Terra Mare is located at 551 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. For more information, call (954) 414-5160 or visit terramarefl.com.
Insider Tip: Before you leave, be sure to order the ice cream or sorbet, as it comes out with an entire cart filled with all sorts of goodies.
