Cravings: Bruléed Parmesan Creme at BRIO Tuscan Italian

Bruleed Parmesan Creme BRIO

Whenever I pass BRIO tuscan grille, my mind thinks it’s time for Happy Hour (or it at least hopes it is), as this South Florida staple offers some of the best Happy Hour specials around. Where else can you enjoy a Margherita Flatbread or Beef Carpaccio for just $3.95? While Happy Hour certainly shines at BRIO, the spotlight has just shifted to include Brio’s newly launched menu, and their sinfully delicious Bruleed Parmesan Creme — and we felt no guilt in licking this plate clean.

I was recently invited in to BRIO tuscan grille to check out their new menu. While it continues to offer classic Italian dishes that you’d expect to find at the restaurant, it now has added multiple options that have been given a modern flair and include a variety of small plates meant for sharing. Think – Fingerling Potatoes BRIO with crushed red pepper, rosemary and BRIO’s signature Parmesan dressing; White Bean & Escarole Ragout with grape tomatoes, pancetta, garlic, farro and orzo; and more.

“By incorporating a creative, modern twist into many of our dishes, continuing to serve our classic favorites, and adding more opportunities for sharing, we are pleased to evolve the guest experience, while staying true to the essence of Tuscan dining,” said BRIO Culinary Director & Chef Alison Peters.  “The new menu continues to embody our philosophy: ‘to eat well, is to live well.’”

We found the items we tried to be big on flavor — and were thrilled to find that multiple items on the new menu had a healthy focus (Some of the entrees came in at less than 600 calories, while others were made without gluten).

So not all of the items fall into the healthy category, but when they’re bursting in flavor like the Bruleed Parmesan Creme was, we’re completely okay with that. Watch as Chef Freddy from BRIO in CityPlace talks about this decadent dish — you can taste the deliciousness. Wait, did Chef just start eating this before we could take a picture? Ah, the life of a food blogger.

Other noteworthy items on BRIO’s new menu include a baked Sicilian Cauliflower side dish tossed with pepperoncini in a lemon garlic caper sauce finished off with bread crumbs and Parmesan; lightly seasoned Haricot Vert & Roasted Peppers; a 16-ounce Espresso Rubbed Ribeye; and a Prosciutto & Burrata Sandwich served with grilled peppers, mayo, arugula and ciabatta.
