Every year, readers of Wine Enthusiast seek out the August issue, as inside is the annual list of America’s Best Wine Restaurants. The list is made up of restaurants that cater to the oenophile. Having a solid wine list is a must (and of course, great food), but these restaurants must also have a unique wine program. This year’s list include 34 new restaurants to the list, 44 that have hit the Hall of Fame status (they’ve made the list 3+ times). Other lists in the issue include best BYOB restaurants, restaurants that serve the best biodynamic wines, laser focused-wine lists and America’s five new must-visit foodie cities.
While the classics like Daniel, 11 Madison Park, French Laundry and Michael Mina made the list, we had some local restaurants in Florida whose wine lists shine. These include Azul at the Mandarin Oriental, Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa, db Bistro Moderne and Steak 954.
