Three Cocktails to Celebrate National Tequila Day With

When you think of tequila, you probably go back to your college days and that one experience that you’d simply like to forget. Well, time has certainly passed and your tastes have changed. That tequila shot has become a Pink Himalayan Salt  Shot Glass and that classic margarita, a sophisticated cocktail. While our drink of choice may have changed, our reason to celebrate has not — so let’s raise a glass to three great cocktail recipes, perfect for celebrating National Tequila Day on Friday., July 24.

Cobbleone from Regent Cocktail Club

Star mixologist Richie Petronzi has created the Cobbleone, which was inspired by DeLeón Tequila and the company’s newest initiative, the #NextLevelOrder program. This initiative will promote “off-the-menu” cocktails — and will only be available to those in the know. (You heard it here first.) Enjoy this cocktail at Regent Cocktail Club for a limited time or make one for yourself with Petronzi’s recipe.

COBBLEONE

2 oz. DeLeòn Platinum Tequila
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. agave syrup
1/2 oz Amontillado Sherry
1/2 oz. Pedro Ximenez Sherry

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker except for the Pedro Ximenez Sherry. Shake well and pour into a double old fashioned glass. Top with crushed ice and float Pedro Ximenez Sherry on top. Garnish with blackberries and raspberries.

THE TRAPICHE from Drake’s Bar at the JW Marriott Miami

The team at the JW Marriott Miami is getting into the spirit of National Tequila Day and have created a special tequila drink, Trapiche, just for the occasion. While this drink will be available at Drake’s Bar on National Tequila Day, July 24, readers can also enjoy this glass of deliciousness in the comfort of their own home.
