The Shake Up: A Mixology Competition to Benefit No Kid Hungry

March 4, 2017 Events, Wine/Spirits No Comments
The Shake Up - cocktail trio

Although the actual Taste of the Nation event doesn’t take place until April 20, Palm Beach wants to kick things off early. That’s why they’re hosting The Shake Up, a cocktail competition to raise funds for No Kid Hungry. This friendly competition brings together 20 of the area’s hottest restaurants, bars and breweries, who will compete against one another (in hopes of raising the most funds from the proceeds of their sales). The top two establishments who raise the most money will compete against one another in a final round at Palm Beach’s Taste of the Nation at the Kravis Center on Thurs., April 20 — and have a spot mixing up cocktails at the foyer bars at the TOTN event. The two winning restaurants will be announced in April.

The competing establishments for The Shake Up include:

  • Avocado Grill
  • Cafe Chardonnay
  • City Cellar
  • Costa Palm Beach
  • Dada
  • All Eau Palm Beach restaurants (Angle, Breeze Ocean Kitchen, Stir, Temple Orange)
  • Grato
  • Funky Buddha Brewery
  • Hilton WPB
  • Ian’s Tropical Grill
  • Jardin
  • Jove Kitchen & Bar
  • Pistache French Bistro
  • Max’s Harvest
  • Okeechobee Steakhouse
  • PB Catch
  • Pistache French Bistro
  • Shake Shack Boca Raton
  • The Cooper
  • The Regional

Contact the individual establishments to find out what cocktail(s) they will be featuring.

If you’d like to play along and help raise awareness for No Kid Hungry, you might want a drinking plan laid out — and a camera, of course. Gather some friends, raise a glass and tag your photos with hashtag #ShakeUp4NKH.

While you’re busy tasting some cocktails, don’t forget to mark your calendars now for the actual Taste of the Nation Palm Beach event taking place on April 20 at Kravis Center. Better yet, purchase a ticket or two or three. Tickets are available now $125. For more information about Taste of the Nation Palm Beach and other area events benefitting Share Our Strength, visit
