Celebrate the Chinese New Year

From Valentine’s Day to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, we know you’ve been busy planning where and with whom to indulge — but now, it’s time to take a breath, as it’s time to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

February 19, 2015 marks the day when we’ll say good-bye to the year of the horse and hello to the year of the goat. Why limit the celebration to just one day — we think (and our local restaurants do, too) that it calls for a week-long celebration.

Here’s what’s happening in South Florida:

Hakkasan
4441 Collins Avenue, Fontainebleau Miami Beach

Hakkasan will celebrate the Year of the Goat with a family-style prix-fixe menu and the official Chinese New Year Party. The prix-fixe menu will be available from Wed, Feb. 18th through Sat. Feb. 28th. Cost for this 4-course dinner is $128 per person, plus tax and gratuity (2 guests per table minimum). Highlights include a Fish Salmon Yusheng (a traditional dish considered a symbol of prosperity); a Dim Sum Platter; Half Roasted Peking Duck; Braised Lamb Shank with bean paste sauce; and more. Visit Hakkasan online for more information and to view the full menu or call (786) 276-1388

In addition to the prix-fixe menu offering, Hakkasan will also offer an official Chinese New Year celebration on Fri., Feb. 20th starting at 9:30 p.m. This party will include entertainment, a traditional Dragon Dance and more. This will begin in the Bleau Bar in the lobby and end in the restaurant.

Echo
230 A Sunrise Ave, Palm Beach; (855) 435-0061

In honor of the Year of the Goat, Echo will be celebrating Chinese tradition, good fortune and happiness by offering a special Dim Sum menu. This special menu will be offered from Thurs., Feb. 19th until Sun., Feb. 22nd. Enjoy your favorite classes or try something new like their Curry Vegetable Triangles, Duck Bao Buns or Crispy Shrimp & Scallop Chive Dumplings. For the full list of offerings, visit Echo online.

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Mandarin Oriental Miami
500 Brickell Key Dr., Miami
