American Vintage Classic Bar & Grill to Open at The Westin

Out with the old and in with the new. That’s what’s happening at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort this week. The South Florida staple, Shula’s on the Beach will be transformed into American Vintage Classic Bar & Grill, a classic American-inspired eatery and bar. The opening date — Thurs., Feb. 19th.

At it’s helm, you will find Executive Chef Andres Teran, formerly of Morton’s The Steakhouse and The Alexander Hotel in Miami Beach. He has created a sumptuous menu of classic steakhouse selections and American comfort food, which is divided into money-themed categories like Five (Smackers), Eight (Bucks), Ten (Greenbacks) and more.  Highlights in this section include Skillet Cornbread; Deviled Eggs with Smoked Salmon, Bacon + Crab; Gulf Coast Shrimp ‘n Grits; a Maine Lobster Roll and a Local Crab Meat Cocktail with tomato, pineapple, avocado, citrus soy reduction and ponzu-mustard dressing.

For heartier options ($14-47), patrons can enjoy specialties like Pan-Seared Local Grouper; Crackling Berkshire Pork Shank or an all-American Vintage Steak (16-oz Grilled Ribeye, 16-oz NY Strip or an 8 or 12 oz Filet Mignon), all of which use USDA prime-aged and corn-fed Midwest beef and come with a choice of six signature sauces.

A line-up of classic American desserts ($9) and vintage cocktails ($13) round out the list.

American Vintage is located at The Westin Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort, 321 N. Ft. Lauderdale Beach Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, with seating available both inside and out. The restaurant will be open for breakfast and dinner service daily and for lunch on the weekend. For reservations, call 954-355-4000.
