A Nicolas Feuillatte Tasting at Oceanaire

What happens when you bring together Savor Tonight, The Oceanaire Seafood Room & Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte? You get an evening of decadence where great food and fine wine come together in perfect harmony. That’s exactly what happened this past week, as we visited The Oceanaire Seafood Room for a Champagne and food pairing event.

While we have visited Oceanaire before (and have always been thoroughly impressed), this was the first time that “Champagne” Wayne from Nicolas Feuillatte had joined (and entertained) us.  The topic — Champagne, of course — and “Champagne” Wayne introduced us to 4 Champagnes from his portfolio (Brut NV; Blanc de Blanc, 2006; Rosé NV; and D’luscious).

With each Champagne came a lesson on Champagne (the history of Champagne, how to open a bottle, taste it, etc.); the background on the particular Champagne we were tasting; and a plate of gourmet deliciousness to complement the flavors, prepared especially for the group by Chef Kareem. After tasting each pairing, the group was glowing in delight, as that evening’s menu was fit for a king.

As the evening went on, strangers became friends, laughter arose and we will always remember that looking into each other’s eyes is the only way to toast.
