Whole Foods Market Opens on Wednesday in West Palm Beach

Although West Palm Beach has had to wait quite awhile for their own Whole Foods Market, they’ll be singing its praises once they walk through the doors this week. That’s right, Whole Foods Market in West Palm Beach will officially open its doors this Wednesday, February 25th at 9:00 a.m. The grand opening celebration will begin at 8:45, while the traditional bread breaking ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m.  For those rushing to be there when the doors open up, you’ll receive a surprise gift card worth anywhere from $5 to $500 — that is, if you’re one of the first 500 in line.

This location will offer everything you love about Whole Foods — and some added features and a Palm Beach, Lilly Pulitzer-like vibe. I was invited in to get a sneak peek of the new store and here are some of my favorite offerings.

Charcuterie

Upon entering the store, you will be drawn to Palm Rotisserie, where patrons can enjoy featured rotisserie meats (changes daily), signature sandwiches ($7-10) like the Rotisserie Porchetta Sandwich (pork loin seasoned with fennel, garlic and orange) and Prime Rib rubbed with cracked pepper and garlic.  A charcuterie bar will offer dry-aged beef crudo, slow-roasted and smoked salami cotto and fermented and aged salami.

Coffee

A coffee and juice bar will give you that jolt of energy you need — and because we’re always looking for a way to help the environment, while saving a dime, bring a reusable cup and get a cup of coffee for just $1. You can also purchase the one seen above for $1.50.

Crepes

La Crêperie is unique to the West Palm Beach location and offers crêpes for breakfast lunch and dinner for just $5. Breakfast crêpes like the Crêpe Petit Dejeuner, served with scrambled eggs, ham and Swiss Cheese, is available from 8-10 am, while during the rest of the day, a featured Crepe du Jour is offered. Taste the goodness — Crêpe au Saumon with baked leeks, Swiss Cheese and Béchamel or Crêpe Ratatouille et Fromage de Chêvre with French Provencal stewed vegetables and goat cheese.

Cookies

For those craving something sweet, you’ll want to dive right into the displays of freshly made cookies. Available by the pound, for $12.99/lb, it’s the perfect way to make a quick platter or to sneak in something sweet for the road. In addition to the cookie display, Whole Foods Market West Palm Beach offers a full-service bakery that includes True Artisanal Baking with Hearth Breads, pastries, cakes and more. For a special treat to customers, the West Palm Beach location has partnered up with Versailles Bakery in Miami and will carry some of your favorite Cuban treats.

Beer Tasting

Another welcome feature to this location is Palm Beach Brews, a 10-seat bar located in Specialty, where you can enjoy a selection of seasonal craft beers, including Kombucha beer varieties & fine wines (including flights), cheese boards, and a gourmet grilled cheese menu — we can’t wait to try the Tiptoe through the Truffles.

While this is only a sampling of what you will find (the list goes on), we are counting down the hours until you can experience Whole Foods Market West Palm Beach for yourself. To see a listing of opening week happenings, you can visit Palm Beach on the Cheap (also written by yours truly).
