New Year’s Dining Options

However you celebrate the new year, be sure to make it delicious — and bring along some friends, bubbly and party favors to add to the festivities. Here’s our guide to where to go on New Year’s Eve.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Party Like it’s 1929 at Le Ferme (laferme.kitchen), as they host a prohibition-themed New Year’s Event party, complete with 1920’s music, entertainment, a strolling magician, a special menu and prohibition era cocktails. Guests are encouraged to wear their Great Gatsby attire (prizes will be awarded) and will need a secret password (and instructions) to gain access to the party. A $125 5-course prix-fixe menu with a glass of bubbly will be served from 8pm-midnight and tax + gratuity are additional.

The party starts at 9:00 p.m. at Avocado Grill on New Year’s Eve. Chef Julien Gremaud will feature a farm-to-table, prix-fixe menu featuring some of chef’s favorite dishes like Crab and Avocado salad with oranges, scallions and tarragon vinaigrette; 12-hour braised short ribs; a stuffed Pontano Farm’s Zucchini Flower and more. Cost is $89 per person or $115 per person with a bottle of Piper Heidsieck included. The regular a la carte menu will be served until 8:00 p.m. There will be live entertainment by DJ German Garcia and there will be a Champagne toast at midnight on the patio with of view of the downtown fireworks. Angle at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, 100 S Ocean Blvd, Manalapan

Ring in the New Year in style at Angle Restaurant, located at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. The restaurant will be offering 2 prix-fixe dinner menus. The first, a tasting menu, priced at $175/person will include all of your favorite delicacies like caviar, oysters with champagne pearls, Maine Lobster with sauternes glacage, American Wagyu with Oxtail Lasagna; and more. Be in the middle of the celebration when you dine at The Office on New Year’s Eve. The Office will be offering a $75, 3-course dinner menu with a glass of Champagne, served alongside a la carte holiday specials made by Chef Kelley like an 8-oz filet mignon, bean ragout, broccoli rabe, oyster mushrooms & port jus; Pan-seared Corvina with globe artichoke, cauliflower, romanesco white asparagus and meyer lemon crudit.

Chef Rick Mace will spoil you on New Year’s Eve with an incredible holiday menu. There will be 2 seatings available. The first, offered from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, is available for $95/person and will offer a delectable 4-course menu with standouts including Foie Gras Marbré with apricot chutney, mâche sauternes gelée and crushed hazelnut; Porcini Ravioli with brussels sprouts, chestnut, sage and serrano ham; and a Stuffed Veal Saddle laiteau farcie with baby turnip chanterelle mushroom. The later seating, taking place from 8-10 p.m., will include a 5-course dinner for $325. (Menu items are subject to change) — and expands on the earlier menu.

BROWARD

Beauty & the Feast at The Atlantic Hotel & Spa, 601 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale (954) 567-8020

Beauty & the Feast will be open and ready to serve you on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant will offer 2 dinner seatings and will feature a Feast Style menu. The first seating, taking place from 6-9 p.m., will include a 3-course dinner with their famous Pig Roast and a selection of small plates for $59 a person, exclusive of tax and gratuity; the second, starting at 9 p.m. will be a 4-course feast with entertainment — DJ, party favors and champagne toast and cost $119 plus tax and gratuity. For those wanting to take things up a notch, you might want to check out Gala Under the Stars taking place on the 5th floor Oceanfront Terrace. This white tablecloth dinner will include live entertainment, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight.

Chef Paula DiSilva and the team at 3030 Ocean will serve up a decadent 5-course dinner on New Year’s Eve, with a glass of champagne for $110 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Add in wine pairings with each course for an additional $24 per person. Highlights on the menu include Wianno Oysters with caviar and cucumber; Sashimi of Kona Kampachi with pickled mushrooms and yuzu; Ricotta and Truffle Agnolotti; New York Strip Steak with smoked potato purée and red wine shallot. The a la carte menu will not be available on New Year’s Eve.

Can the last meal that you eat this year bring you luck, happiness and prosperity in the New Year? If you’re a believer, make plans to go to Market 17 to ring in the new year. Chef Lauren DeShields has designed a sumptuous 3-course menu for $95, plus tax and gratuity. Highlights include Champagne Ceviche; Cauliflower Apple Soup and Florida golden crab; Grilled Wild Antelope with black eyed pea and house tasso sausage cassoulet; Pan-Seared Local Genuine Red Snapper with basil roasted root vegetables; and more.

Ring in the new year on the intracoastal waterway and make a reservation to have dinner at Blue Moon Fish Co. There will be 2 seatings — the first at 6:30 p.m. ($85) and the second at 9:30 p.m. ($135), which includes a live DJ, party favors, a Champagne toast. Both seatings will enjoy a special 4-course dinner menu. Highlights include Prosciutto Wrapped Brie, “The Big Easy” Seafood Gumbo; Filet Mignon; Lump Crab and Corn Roasted Grouper; Banana Foster Creme Brule and more.

MIAMI-DADE

Uvaggio Wine Bar, 70 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables; (305) 448-2400

Change things up this New Year’s and head of over to Uvaggio Wine Bar in the Gables. Uvaggio will be hosting a Battle of the Bubbly on New Year’s Eve from 7-10:30 p.m. Tickets are limited and the event costs $250/person. This includes champagne, wine and a special menu with all of your favorites (oysters, caviar, crab and more) created by Top Chef-alum Brett Polaggi. And to drink, Joy Sterling from Iron Horse Winery will be pouring Iron Horse’s top wines and we’ll add in our favorite European Wines, Krug, Aged Barolo, Burgundy and more.

When you are looking for food that supports life for you, your community and your environment, head over to Essensia. Chef Frans has you covered, and has created 3 options for dining out on New Year’s — an early and late seating for dinner and a New Year’s Day brunch. The early seating will take place from 6-9 p.m. (you must be seated by 7:15) is priced at $95++, while the later seating starts at 9 p.m., includes live entertainment and costs $195++. A children’s menu will also be available. Brunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Highlights from the dinner include: a Chilled Beet-Cucumber Yogurt with fresh tarragon flowers; Paprika & Za’atar Rubbed Grass Fed Filet Mignon with watermelon-jalapeño salsa and caramelized fennel; Lemongrass Scented Broiled Lobstesr Tail; Gingered Caramel Apple Cake with rosemary-infused ice cream.

StripSteak, Hakassan and Scarpetta will all be offering 4 and 5-course prix-fixe dinner menus to ring in the new year. The 4-course dinners will be offered at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. seatings and cost $195++, while the 5-course menus, available at the 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. seatings, costs $295 a person. What I thought really stood out at Fontainebleau and what will put a smile on a vegetarian’s face is that in addition to serving the tasting menus, the restaurants will also offer a vegetarian version. Michael Mina 74 and Vida will also be open and serving dinner on New Year’s Eve. Top Chef Alum, Fabio Viviani, will tickle your palate on New Year’s Eve with an exquisite dinner at Siena Tavern. There will be 2 seatings on New Year’s Eve. The first seating ($195) will take place between 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. (you must be seated by 7:15) and include a 4-course dinner menu, while the late seating ($295) will take place starting at 9:00 p.m. and include a 5-course dinner.

Highlights include: Hamachi with spicy balsamic, truffle honey and crispy shallots, Squid Ink Linguini with grilled lobster tail; Filet Mignon with truffle polenta and amazon pan sauce; and Balsamic Glazed Chilean Sea Bass with braised kale, cippolini onions and charred tomato.

Cavalli will be throwing a Great Gatsby themed dinner party for New Year’s Eve with all of the bells and whistles. Starting at 9:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy a 6-course prix-fixe dinner menu, plus a bottle of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 for $500 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Highlights include a Lobster Salad; Alba White Truffle Risotto; Beef Tenderloin in Barolo wine sauce, foie gras and Alba white truffle; and more. Who knows, you may run in to Roberto Cavalli himself.
